    Title : Organize Your Speech (2nd Major Assignment)
    Date : 2017.05.28
    Evaluator : Seonghwan Cho
    Speaker : Hyunseo Jung

    * Speech Value (Interesting, meaningful to audience)
    : 2 / As a Korean, the topic was too common but it was still interesting. One thing made me fascinated is the contents was different with what I already know.

    * Preparation (Research, rehearsal)
    : 1 / You fully memorized your speech. You didn't used any notes. In addition, you seemed to have searched some investigations or researches. I think thoes well showed how much you prepared the presentation.

    * Organization (Logical, clear)
    : 2 / I especially liked I could grasp your speech outline. There was logical and sequential structure. It made me follow and understand your presentation easily. But, I'm not sure what you want to say consequently. You start the presentation as if there is correlation between blood type and personality. Or yours seemed to just introduce common streotype about the correlation. However, at the end of the presentation, you seemed to say it is audiences' choice to believe whether it is right or not. Or even you seemed to say it is unscientific.

    * Opening (Attention-getting, led to topic)
    : 1 / Setting fictional but possible situation was excellent. I could easily imagine the situation. And because the situation was well linked to what you were going to say, I'm sure it drew audiences' attention.

    * Body (Flowed smoothly, appropriate, support material)
    : 1 / You used enough transition signal so that the contents flowed smoothly. And I think the research you suggested well support the whole presentation.

    * Conclusion (Effective)
    : 2 / Hmm.. I couldn't find from where the conclusion part started. Is the statement 'I'll end my presentation ~' the conclusion signal? If so, your conclusion has only a question implicative. If not so, the division between body and conclusion was unclear.

    * Transition (appropriate, helpful)
    : 1 / As I mentioned above, you really well-used the trasition signal, I think. I could draw the flow in my brain. It was great.

    * What could the speaker have done differently to make the speech more effective?
    : In my personal opinion, almost every part was over the average. Specifying what you really want to say might improve your presentation.

    * What did you like about the presentation?
    : Overall, I enjoyed your speech. I think I said before, but you looked very calm and confident in presenting. Your voice was clear and audible. You seemed to improve yourself. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Title: Organize your speech
    Evaluator: Jeeny Jung
    Speaker: Hyunseo Jung
    Date: 6/1

    1. Speech value: 1, The speech was interesting as she chose a topic of our lifestyle which I never thought to be serious or to become a topic to discuss. However by watching her presentation I got to know that blood type is actually an interesting and discussable topic in Korea
    2. Preparation: 1, She made adequate preparation as she didn't use any notes and knew the contents of what would come next.
    3. Organization: 1, Her organization was clear for us to understand. Her opening, body and conclusion was distinct for us to know the flow of her presentation.
    4. Opening: 1, The opening caught my attention by starting with an example of a conversation case which was connected to the topic.
    5. Body: 2, She introduces the 4 blood types one by one and then a research that back ups her main point.
    6. Conclusion: 1, She repeats that personalities are not classified by blood type and says that it is our choice whether to believe in blood types or not.
    7. Transition: 1, She uses transitions that lets us know that she will talk about a new blood type.
    8. What would the speaker have done differently to make the speech more effective? It might have been better if she had said her main point first, to let the audience what her main point is. And then introducing the blood type personalities but that they are just common thoughts.
    9. What did you like about the presentation? I liked that she paused to give the audience a moment of comprehension and the use of ppt which lets the audience know what blood type she is talking about.
