1. What was the overall purpose of the speech. Try to restate or summarize the main point. How well was it addressed? - The speaker insisted that students should wear school uniform, because of three reasons including a sense of unity, the financial burden of parents and the annoyance to choose clothes. The main statement and supporting ideas were well addressed.
2. Was there a hook? Was it effective? How could it have been improved? - There was a hook saying, “Today’s issue that has been discussed for a long.” Regarding the time of speech (3 minutes), it was effective. But if he introduced some stories like why it is a hot potato or related news, it would attract more interest.
3. Was the structure logical? Point supported by evidence or examples? Good transitions between ideas? - It was logical. The speaker used three reasons to support the main idea. He used transition signals, so I could follow easily.
4. Was the conclusion concise? Were main points restated or summarized? Was the closing memorable? - Yohan restated the message and three reasons. It was concise and I could think the righteousness of wearing a school uniform.
5. Did the speaker use enthusiasm, pauses, humor, visual aids? - I could see his passion. Even though there were no visual aids, the speech was well delivered just with his calm and strong voice.
6. What did you notice about the speaker’s body language? Posture, eye contact, gestures. - The speaker used eye contact and gesture nice enough to make the audience feel they had a communication.
7. Was the volume good? Did the speaker enunciate and pronounce clearly? Could everything be understood? - The volume was good to hear. The speaker had clear and loud voice so that I could understand his speech quite well.
